My Primary Occupation

Hello, I'm Donny Harland, originally from the four corners area of New, Mexico (Farmington). I recently retired almost three years ago (October 31, 2007) as Chief of Police for a Technical College in Central Texas and I have been a police officer for 24 years. I have worked with and still work with a great group of officers.

As a secondary interest in my occupation, I have consulted and taught Forensic Investigative Hypnosis for police investigators. Hypnosis, as an investigative and forensic tool, has been utilized by law enforcement in the United States on a constant basis since 1970. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in favor of the use of hypnosis in criminal cases. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and most states have upheld convictions IN WHICH hypnosis was utilized by law enforcement officers. Hypnosis is used as a means of refreshing the memory in recalling facts, such as license plate numbers, descriptions of suspects and crime scenes, etc., which the conscious mind has blocked out.

are contained in the Bible? Do you know that God really does have a "purpose" for each of us in his plan?

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
