A Thought for Today :
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 14-16.
What would you do if the creator of the heavens and earth came and appeared in a blinding light during the middle of the day and asked you "Why do you persecute me?"
You know.... it is easy to disregard that there really was a man named Saul (whose name was changed to Paul) after this incident, and who really lived this experience. There is plenty of history outside of the Bible that show this man (as well as a man called "Christ") really existed in time. It kind of makes you wonder why this man (Saul) changed his life and went on telling the story of this saving Christ (son of the Living God) all the way to his personal death. Belief in God and the history of man, prove God's existence as well as His infallible Word.
If my life does not reflect the same experience of Saul's transformation then do I persecute Christ as well? I know the Word is infallible as I have never known or met a person (including myself) that gained the great peace and satisfaction of the soul, living contrary to it. To experience the hardship and pain that come from the result of living for ourselves should be more evidence than we need to believe, accept, and follow God and His word.
I guess I believe... just like Saul, we all have a choice once God reveals himself to us, and sometimes life itself may become that revelation.
Psalms 33:12
Now know I that the LORD saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
Psalms 20:6-7
